IPL 2020: Who’ll make it to the playoffs

IPL 2020 is in its final stages. Wait, what? Really? Yes, the cricket mela in the deserts of UAE, thanks to the IPL, that began about two months ago when teams started to land in the country is now into its second-last week. Things are becoming complicated for some teams as the race for qualification is now heated up.

Chennai Super Kings became the first team to exit the competition and we are now left with seven teams to fight for four spots. Three teams are up for the top two spots while the remaining four teams are going for the one spot.

IPL 2020 playoffs

The schedule of the IPL playoffs has been announced with Dubai and Abu Dhabi staging the four matches. The playoffs scheduled was not announced earlier but was scheduled to be at a later stage. Now, Dubai and Abu Dhabi will host the four matches starting on November 5. The final will be played in Dubai on November 10. All matches will start at 6 pm local time (7.30 pm IST).

Mumbai Indians – Position 1

The favorites, Mumbai Indians are just doing all the things right. They are the best team among the other two teams tied at 14 points with a huge positive net run-rate. They just need one win to qualify for the playoffs and try their luck for a record 5th title.

Delhi Capitals – Position 2

Lost their previous two matches but still pretty comfortable as they are well placed with a healthy run-rate over RCB. With 14 points in their bank, things are not too much complicated for DC. They are the most well-placed second team to finish their group stage in the top two spots.

SRH is almost out of the competition. One loss and their fate will be destined. Things didn’t go well for them. Some bad performances on crucial days, the dipping form of David Warner just couldn’t help their cause. They have three matches left for the IPL 2020 and what they can do best is to win all of them and they rely on other teams to go to the playoffs.
