Glenn Maxwell led from the front and guided his side to victory in the first game against the Brisbane Heat. It was a good win for the side after the bad start they got at the top of the order and ended the match-winning by 22 runs thanks to some disciplined bowling from their bowlers. The Stars have a good record against the Hurricanes in recent years. They have won the last four out of six games between the two sides. Playing at home they would have a better knowledge of the conditions and would like to use it to their advantage and earn the second victory for the season.
There were some hiccups at the top in the last game as Nic Maddinson and Marcus Stoinis didn’t provide a good start to the side and they would look to make amends in the next game. Peter Handscomb and Hilton Cartwright also failed. But Maxwell looked at his best and his form is a big plus for the side. Down the order, Clint Hinchliffe and Ben Dunk also bring good abilities to the batting line-up. It was a great show from Daniel Worral and Adam Zampa in the last game sealing the win for the side. Haris Rauf also bowled well in the game and the side would like to see a better show from their spin sensation Sandeep Lamichhane against the Hurricanes.
Ben McDermott who is leading the side in absence of regular skipper Matthew Wade would have been happy with the way his bowlers were able to defend a low score against the Sydney Sixers. They managed to win the game by 25 runs after putting mere 129 runs on the board. McDermott would be aware of the fact that his batsmen will have to improve upon their performance going into the next game. The side doesn’t have the best of records against the Stars and will need to deliver in all departments in the next game.
As far as batting goes D’Arcy Short is continuing with his BBL form from the last season and played a good knock in the last game but other batsmen around him failed. His fellow opener Caleb Jewell will have to do well in the next game. The side has a good middle order in Ben McDermott, George Bailey, and David Miller. Down the order, Simon Milenko and James Faulkner add strength to the batting for the side. In the bowling department, Qais Ahmed and Riley Meredith look in exceptional form at the moment. James Faulkner also lived up to his reputation in the last game. The side would want the likes of Clive Rose, Nathan Ellis, and Milenko to support the other bowlers in the next game.

Melbourne Stars who have started the 2019-20 BBL on the perfect note will be taking on Hobart Hurricanes at home in the next game. The Stars look confident after their convincing win in the last game where their batsmen and bowlers did well. Hobart Hurricanes on the other hand also comes into the game with a win behind their back though there are some issues with their batting. The game would be an interesting one as both sides boast of having good hitters of the ball as well as good bowling attacks.
Melbourne Stars are playing at home and have better balance in their line-up and this would make them favorites for the next game.
