Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Kolkata Knight Riders Match Prediction:

The third game of the IPL takes place between two teams who have had contrasting seasons last year.

Kolkata Knight Riders looked all set to qualify for the playoffs until a late-season stumble saw them miss out.

Sunrisers Hyderabad looked inconsistent all season but had a nice push towards the end to toss the Kolkata Knight Riders out of contention.

The two sides will now be taking off after contrasting auctions as well.

On one side, Sunrisers Hyderabad was pretty relaxed in the auction and didn’t make too many buys.

They trusted their existing squad and bought a few players like Kedar Jadhav and Mujeeb Ur Rahman to strengthen their side’s specific areas.

On the other hand, Kolkata Knight Riders had gone back to Shakib Al Hasan, who has been an integral part of their side when they won their maiden title.

With Sunil Narine’s form and action under the scanner, along with his effectiveness with the bat, the Knight Riders may be tempted to give Shakib ago.

The two sides are playing in Chennai, which was a little slow and low during the season’s first game.

With the slow and low nature of the pitch and a hint of turn, both sides may continue to bring in spinners.

The two sides contain an excellent set of spinners and should use the conditions with ease.

Sunrisers Hyderabad Predicted XI and Team News:

The Sunrisers Hyderabad will continue to be lead by David Warner, and the return of Bhuvneshwar Kumar will further boost the Sunrisers Hyderabad side.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s injury last season gave way to T Natarajan’s rise, who has now become an effective bowler for both his franchise and nation.

Sandeep Sharma is another bowler who has looked consistent with the new ball, while Jason Holder has done well in the middle-overs, picking up crucial wickets.

The pace attack looks well balanced with Sandeep Sharma upfront, T Natarajan at the death, and Jason Holder in the middle, while Bhuvneshwar Kumar attacks whenever the team finds itself in a spot of bother.

Along with the pacers, Sunrisers Hyderabad has Rashid Khan.

With four pacers, and a world-class T20 spinner, the Sunrisers Hyderabad has one of the best bowling line-ups, and the players mentioned pick themselves.

A debate may come up regarding the top order, with Jonny Bairstow and Kane Williamson fighting for a spot.

  1. David Warner
  2. Wriddhiman Saha
  3. Manish Pandey
  4. Kane Williamson/Jonny Bairstow
  5. Priyam Garg/Vijay Shankar
  6. Jason Holder
  7. Abdul Samad
  8. Bhuvneshwar Kumar
  9. Sandeep Sharma
  10. Shahbaz Nadeem
  11. T Natarajan

Kolkata Knight Riders Team News and Predicted XI:

Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Kolkata Knight Riders Match Prediction

Unlike last season, Eoin Morgan will be leading the side from the first game, and considering the form of certain players, the captain may have some decisions to make.

The opening pair seems settled, with Shubman Gill in good form, along with Rahul Tripathi.

Nitish Rana has selected himself at number three after showing some consistency over the years, and the middle order looks strong with the captain and Dinesh Karthik.

The pace attack is pretty settled with several Indian fast bowlers in Prasidh Krishna, Kamlesh Nagarkoti, and Shivam Mavi.

One or two out of them may join Lockie Ferguson and Pat Cummins.

The spin attack is now the point of discussion.

Varun Chakravarthy had a good season, but fitness issues may play a part in his selection.

With Shakib Al Hasan in the squad, Kolkata Knight Riders may feel tempted to go with him over Sunil Narine, who has found it difficult with both bat and ball last season.

The West Indian pair is a significant concern, as both Narine and Russel struggled last year.

With those two not having a great show, the Kolkata Knight Riders may have a bit to sort out before selecting their XI

  1. Shubman Gill
  2. Rahul Tripathi
  3. Nitish Rana
  4. Sunil Narine/Shakib Al Hasan
  5. Eoin Morgan
  6. Dinesh Karthik
  7. Andre Russel
  8. Pat Cummins
  9. Varun Chakravarthy
  10. Lockie Ferguson
  11. Prasidh Krishna

Pitch and Conditions:

The first game saw some turn and bounce, and more can be expected as the tournament progresses.

However, dew did not seem to impact the game much, which may prompt sides to bat first, despite a successful chase in the first game at the venue.
